Now let’s RECAP a little of last night shall we?

NOVEMBER 8, 2009-
The Jay-Z concert featuring opening acts J.Cole, Wale, and N.E.R.D. totally kicked off my 21st birthday week in a good way. N.E.R.D. kind of kicked it off, mostly because the stands were more full by the time they came out, and got the crowd going crazy. The got some girls to go on stage and this beezy at the end of the song went up to give Pharrell a kiss. His reaction cracked me up; he totally played it cool lol.

At around 9:30, Jay-Z came out strong. He sang a lot of the new songs off The Blueprint 3 album (if you don’t got it, then getting it is a must!); Just to give a mini playlist, he sang D.O.A., Empire State of Mind, A Star is Born, Onto the the Next One, Young Forever  rag swishin’ Big Pimpin, Jigga, cameos with Rihanna in Run This Town and her solo song Hard, and  then Mr. Pharrell with So Ambitious, Thank You, Encore….and seriously, the list goes on!

All in all, a grand  performance & concert, one that I will never forget! If you’ve never been to a Jay-Z concert, then going is  MUST! I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!!!

Screw you Phillies!!!

Dodgers, no excuses….must win AT LEAST ONE (are they saving the best for last?)

In the other series, Yankees seem to have the Angels wooped. (Dodgers not included, today was just an exception). I was kind of hoping Angels would win one to tie the series. It would be no fun if Yankees just sweep them. C’mon Angels! Get it together! Stop making lame mistakes. Try catching the ball every now then. (I’m no Angels fan, but I can’t let them taint Los Angeles haha; its unforgivable!)

On another note, ever since the Wii came out (ages ago, I know), my family and I have been meaning to purchasing one. It hasn’t really been a priority, especially when we started remodeling/rebuilding our house to accommodate all of us (its 6 people). But today, I told me dad that I’ll go half and half with him on purchasing it. And so today, we finally did it. After the Dodgers pitifully lost, I alleviated my sorrow playing games. lol

I have to say though, once you buy a Wii, you just get sucked into anything Wii-related. The amount of stuff for this thing is immense…like c’mon now! There’s a lightsaber?! Steering wheel I understand, but anything more just seems unnecessary, doesn’t it? Anyway, I would think that after spending about $200+ today I wouldn’t want to be near my wallet in fear it would disintegrate for lack of funds, but I’m just “internet window shopping” looking for any Wii accessories and miscellaneous things that I absolutely do not need. At least not yet.

Just finished watching the game; series tied 1:1.

Next up is the Yankees vs Angels game later on tonight, might watch just for the heck of it, just to get a look at the competition lol

Happy Birthday Coach!

Although I was born way after John Wooden’s prime years, he is nevertheless still a big part of the UCLA community, not just because of all his trophies or that our gym is named after him, but mainly because he still is part of our community. It is no surprise to see Mr. Wooden sometimes in the basketball games from time to time.

Now that you know our gym is named the ‘John Wooden Center’, it comes to no surprise that the decorations inside the gym are in some way related to him.

For example- In the main entrance of the gym, his famous “Pyramid of Success” is displayed. You can Google this if you want to know more, or you can just look at this image to get an idea of what is written on their.

But enough about me, time to talk some serious talk: cartoons.

Honestly? What is UP with cartoons nowadays? They’re not even the cool OG 2D graphics anymore, now they’re all computerized, CGI crap. I can’t even bear to sit with my little brothers when they watch their cartoons anymore.

Back in my day (that is, the 90s, back when Pluto was a planet), I had my all-time fave Popeye, The Flintstones, Care Bears, Power Rangers (lol; if you say you never watched it when you were a kid, you’re in denial! Practically every boy wanted to be the Red or Green/White ranger and every girl wanted to be pink), Powerpuff Girls, Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, many of the Disney cartoons, but most especially, those classic Disney cartoons and Silly Symphonies.

Remember those?

I don’t know about everybody else, but I quite remember the Governator having signed into law prohibiting hand-held cell phone use on New Years of 2009. But apparently, living with the Governator doesn’t really mean you keep track of all the bills he signs into law or vetoes.

Maria Shriver was caught breaking the law her own husband had implemented. Not just on one occasion, but it seems to be a habitual law-breaking antic. But no worries Californians, Gov. Arnold Scwarzenegger himself said on his Twitter that he will deal with it, I’m guessing just like he delt with our budget crisis-

I wonder what kind of ‘swift action’ will be implemented? lol
